Veerle van der Wal

Veerle van der Wal is a double bassist, composer, and bandleader based in the Netherlands. She leads the Undercurrent Trio and has released two EPs — Faultlines (2022) and Sediment (2023) — both recorded under her own name.

Her playing spans jazz, improvised music, and contemporary composition. She has performed at North Sea Jazz, Montreux Jazz Festival, Ronnie Scott’s, and Bimhuis, and toured extensively across Europe.
